Other challenges include inclement weather, such as heavy rains, snow and ice, soil conditions, septic system location, trees or utility poles, road access to the property, or driveway conditions all have a tremous impact on the project.

For modular building, the precise scheduling of the manufacturer's delivery time from its factory to the site is crucial. Coordination of the delivery and the set operations involves many skilled laborers, so delay to this scheduled process means additional costs and can put the project budget at risk. There may be reasons to reschedule the delivery, but it may not be possible. If one of the modules is already set in place, it is difficult to stop the process. If there are natural causes beyond anyone's control and the operation may cease, the crew will take necessary steps to protect the home from weather damage until the cause of the delay is removed.
